Ryan comes to PBI after a successful high school and college career. Ryan started his college career at Kishwaukee College in 2006. He was named first team all region, first team all conference, as well as junior college all-star. One of Ryan’s biggest accomplishments came when he finished 2nd in the nation for stolen bases and was nominated for the national gold glove award for all junior college outfielders. After his two year at Kishwaukee, Ryan transferred to Missouri Baptist University where he finished out his college career.
After college, Ryan played in the Western Major Baseball League out of Canada on the Weyburn Beavers until he decided to transition from a player to a coach in 2010.
