Mike is an ’07 graduate of Prairie Ridge High School where he played under Glen Pecoraro for two years. While at Prairie Ridge, Mike led his team in stolen bases (28), wins on the mound (5-0) and was an All-Conference Honorable Mention his senior year.
After Prairie Ridge, Mike went onto play collegiate baseball at North Park University where he started in left field for three years. While at North Park, Mike helped lead his team in 2011 to its first CCIW Conference Championship since 1990. Mike currently holds four records at North Park for single season sacrifice hits (9), most career sacrifice hits (15), single season fielding percentage (1.000), and highest career fielding percentage (.993).
While playing at North Park, Mike was also hired as the Head Coach for the Elgin Rippers Collegiate Summer team, where he coached numerous Division I athletes, and helped develop a 14th round draft pick of the Kansas City Royals 2010 draft Mike Giovenco. After coaching the Rippers for 3 years, Mike was then hired as the Crystal Lake Cardinals 18U Head Coach for the summer of 2011.
Mike earned a B.S. in Physical Education from North Park University in 2011 and is currently the Sophomore Assistant Baseball Coach at Cary-Grove High School.
