Keith Toriani is a former Athlete of the Year at Leyden High School where he was an 8 time letter winner.  Keith went 12-3 with a 1.38 ERA on the hill and hit .456 with 44 RBI’s.  Keith was named all-west suburban conference, all-area, and all-state.

After high school, Keith earned a scholarship to the University of Illinois where he posted a 20-12 record and hit .330.  In a memorable outing, Keith pitched 8 innings to beat the then 5th ranked Miami Hurricanes.  In another great performance, Keith pitched 11 innings giving up just 2 runs for a no decision in Big Ten Playoffs.  He earned the Mills/Eilbracht Scholarship in 1992 and was named All Tournament Player in the 1992 Big Ten Championship.  Keith was also the recipient of the George Huff Award in 1993.

Keith played professionally in the Great Central League for the Champaign-Urbana Bandits posting a 13-0 record with a 1.21 era while hitting 8 homeruns. Keith’s professional career came to an end after he pitched 10 innings for the Minnesota Twins giving up one run during spring training as a replacement player.

Keith did not have the raw talents of most athletes, but always listened and absorbed everything related to baseball. Being taught by Augie Garrido and Richard “itchy” Jones, he excelled at baseball.

Keith now uses his knowledge and experience to teach and train young kids to succeed at baseball and offers them everything he’s has learned throughout his sports career.
