Brian comes to PBI after 8 seasons of professional baseball; 6 years as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. Brian was drafted in the 12th round by the Pirates out of Moon Area high school in Pennsylvania. While at Moon, the “southpaw” lead the tigers to back to back state championships in 2001 and 2002.  He also received “Player of the Year” honors for the Pittsburgh Tribune Review in 2001 and for the Allegheny/Beaver County Times in 2001 as well as 2002. After beginning his professional career in the summer of 2002 at the age of 18; Brian spent parts of 2 years in Rookie ball for the Pirates were after his second year he led the team in strikeouts per innings pitched and received the honor of being a part of the Pirates Top 30 prospects.

In 2004 as a starting pitcher for the Low Class A Hickory Crawdads Brian helped lead the Crawdads to the South Atlantic League Championship. During the season Brian threw 7 1/3 innings of a combined “no-hitter” to help clinch the division title. Brian spent the next few seasons in Lynchburg Virginia playing for the High Class A Lynchburg Hillcats and the Double A level Altoona Curve of Altoona Pennsylvania.

Following his career with the Pirates Brian spent time playing for the Bravos de Margarita in Venezuela, the York Revolution of the Atlantic league and Newark Bears also of the Atlantic League.
